Wolfe Island is reached from Kingston by a free car ferry run by the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
The island is mostly rural farmland, with year-round homes and seasonal cottages. We install, clean and repair carpet in both.
We bring carpet samples to your home when we measure, so you choose your carpet on the island instead of at a showroom.
Island homes get the same cleaning, stain treatment, repair and restretching we offer on the mainland. Repairs and restretching run $100-$450 per room. Tell us your preferred dates when you request a quote, and we’ll set an appointment window that suits you.
In this Wolfe Island home, we installed a natural-tone runner with blue binding on a staircase with black-painted treads, with the same carpet and border on the landing. The coloured binding frames the runner against the dark paint. Each step is measured before cutting, so the runner stays centred from the top of the flight to the bottom.
A 12×12 room runs $576-$1,728 installed, and removing old carpet adds $72-$144.
For year-round homes and for cottages reopened after a season closed up.
Ripples pulled out with a power stretcher; most rooms take a couple of hours.
We choose underlay and plan drying time on Wolfe Island jobs with lake humidity in mind. The island sits where Lake Ontario meets the St. Lawrence River, and homes close to the water can see higher humidity than mainland properties. That affects how much moisture an underlay holds, and it can leave a musty smell in a cottage that has been closed for months before reopening.
On Wolfe Island, we offer carpet installation, carpet padding suited to lake humidity, carpet cleaning, carpet restretching for ripples after a humid summer, and upholstery cleaning for cottages being opened for the season. See all the communities we serve.
The car ferry is free. We plan the ferry trip into your booking, and any travel cost appears on your written, itemized quote before work starts.
Yes, we work with both year-round and seasonal Wolfe Island properties.
Give us more notice than you would for a mainland job, and contact us as early as you can.
