Kingston's Carpet Installation Specialists
Carpet Experts Kingston installs, repairs and restretches carpet for homeowners and businesses across Kingston, Ontario and the surrounding region. From carpeting a new build to running a stair runner down a century-old staircase or replacing worn flooring room by room, the crew that measures your space is the crew that fits it. We're installers, not a showroom – the work happens in your home, not on a retail floor.
Kingston's housing stock spans stone and brick homes built well before the mid-1900s through to newer subdivisions on the city's west and north sides, and an install looks different depending on which one you're in. Older subfloors, original hardwood underlayment and stairs that aren't quite square need careful power-stretching, hand-cut seams and scribed edges that big-box installers rush past. Newer builds are more often about swapping builder-grade carpet for something that actually holds up. We work across cut-pile, Berber loop-pile and patterned runners, and we handle the underlay and padding that carpet performance actually depends on.
Our goal on every job, residential or commercial, is straightforward: a fair, itemized quote, a tight installation with seams where you won't see them, and carpet that still looks right in five years. Call us to talk through what your space needs.

Stair Runners, Fitted to the Staircase You Actually Have
Stairs are the hardest carpet work in a house and the place a rushed job shows first. A runner has to sit centred on every tread with the same reveal of wood on each side, wrap the nosing tightly enough that the edge doesn’t round off underfoot, and hold its pattern straight down a flight that may not be perfectly square – which, in Kingston’s older homes, it often isn’t. We measure rise, tread depth and nosing profile before cutting, and we’ll walk you through waterfall versus French cap so you know which finish you’re getting and why. Winders, landings and open sides are all normal work here, not an upcharge surprise at the end.
Stair Runner Installation
Installation Done With a Power Stretcher, Not a Knee Kicker
Most carpet that ripples within a couple of years was never properly stretched to begin with. We power-stretch every broadloom install, place seams away from sightlines and traffic paths rather than wherever the roll happens to end, and replace tack strip and underlay instead of laying new carpet over tired pad. You get an itemized quote covering carpet, underlay, removal and disposal before anything starts, so the number at the end is the number you agreed to.
Carpet Installation
Repair and Restretching Before Replacement
A lot of carpet that looks like it needs replacing is actually a restretching job. Loose or rippled carpet, and smaller issues like separated seams, burns or pet damage, can often be repaired for a fraction of what a full replacement costs. We’ll always tell you honestly which option fits your carpet rather than steering every call toward a full install.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you supply the carpet, or do I buy it myself?
Either works. We can supply and install, or fit carpet you've already bought. Tell us which when you request a quote so the pricing reflects it.
Can you install a stair runner on an existing hardwood staircase?
Yes, that's one of the most common jobs we do. We measure rise, tread and nosing first, confirm the reveal of wood you want on each side, and fit the runner without damaging the treads underneath.
My carpet feels loose or has ripples – can that be fixed without replacing it?
Often, yes. Loose or rippled carpet is usually a restretching job rather than a replacement, provided the carpet itself isn't worn through or damaged.
Do you remove and dispose of the old carpet?
Yes. Removal of old carpet, underlay and tack strip, plus disposal, is quoted as part of the job rather than added on afterward.
Do you work on both residential and commercial properties?
Yes, we handle homes, offices, retail spaces and rental-unit turnovers across Kingston and the surrounding area.
Which areas around Kingston do you serve?
Kingston and the surrounding region, including Napanee, Gananoque, Amherstview, Odessa, Bath and the other communities listed on this site. Call to confirm coverage for your specific address.
