We power-stretch every install. A power stretcher pulls the carpet taut over the pad before it is hooked onto the tack strip, so the surface stays flat and resists rippling as the carpet settles.
New pad goes under every install, because reusing old pad under new carpet shortens the life of both.

Where wall-to-wall carpet meets hardwood, tile or laminate, we set a transition strip sized to the height difference between the two floors, so the edge sits flat instead of curling or catching underfoot. Between two carpeted rooms, we check pile direction and the traffic pattern before cutting to decide how the carpet runs through the doorway.
